Unveiling the Spectacle: A Recap of SXSW 2024

What's so good?

SXSW 2024, the annual convergence of technology, music, film, and innovation, once again descended upon Austin, Texas, with a whirlwind of creativity and inspiration. From keynote speaker Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, to groundbreaking discussions on internet algorithms, this year's event proved to be a melting pot of ideas and insights.

The music scene at SXSW 2024 was as vibrant as ever, with performances ranging from The Black Keys to rising stars making their mark on the industry. The film portion of the event showcased a diverse array of cinematic talent, with premieres of Monkey Man, The Fall Guy, and more generating buzz and anticipation among attendees.

In addition to the main events, the networking opportunities were invaluable for companies such as SubmitHub (our sister company), providing the opportunity to forge deeper bonds with industry heavy-hitters such as Spotify and the likes.

Whether it was finding unassuming acts at random gives that knocked our socks off or being blown away by the bigger names in music, my time at SXSW 2024 left me inspired and energized, ready to bring new ideas and perspectives back to the work we do at SubmitHub as well as these music reviews I write for you all weekly.

Overall, SXSW 2024 was a testament to the power of creativity, collaboration, and innovation. As we reflect on the insights gained and connections made during the event, we look forward to seeing how these experiences will shape the future of music.

Server Problems

We were having issues with the stream, it turns out it was a corrupt decoder on the server side.

It took over 48hrs of trouble shooting to come to the conclusion that it was not a DJ/Software issue but was definitely server related.

The server software was updated and re-configured and after testing for a few hours it seems to be stable again, things are fixed (we hope).
